Let's create! This course will explore the vast array of creative possibilities the artist has when working with mixed media.  We will take three days to create a loose, spontaneous piece of work that incorporates texture, colour and a variety of mediums into a layered expression of your personal style.  Please bring photographs of subjects that are significant to you, if you would like some point of reference from which to begin this process. This course will be an exploration of different techniques for applying water based paint, graphite, conte, pastel and oil sticks on a textured background to create images that have a sense of mystery. Rather than working realistically, we will work with the concept of "lost and found" to create a work that draws the viewer into a feeling of shared experiences. Often, we lose the sense of playfulness and of faith in process when creating art, and this course will focus on recapturing our childlike delight in image making!!
